As humans we tend to be concerned with externals: with youth, with beauty, with looking good. The big house, the fancy car, the snazzy clothes, the flashy jewelry, having a pretty face... all these things are seen as important to our well-being and happiness.
But are they? If we are honest with ourselves, we realize that it doesn't matter what is on the outside. What is in the inside is what matters. No amount of make-up or expensive jewelry can cover up a broken heart, or an unloving attitude.
The most important thing to be concerned about is what is in our heart. Are we condescending, judgmental, always angry about something? Or... Are we kind? Are we considerate of others? Are we loving? Happiness will come from the inside when we focus on inner beauty rather than external.

External Beauty and Youth? - or - Internal Beauty and Wisdom?
